My Dad found Fredericksburg traveling through the Hill Country on his way to hunting leases in Kimble and Menard Counties. He had always dreamed of being a rancher and raising his family in a small town. When he found Fredericksburg, he knew he had found the place. Our family moved to Fredericksburg in 1968. My brothers and I found a freedom we had not experienced growing up in the Houston area. My Dad ran a ranch for my Uncle in the Eckert/Willow City area. We grew up around horses and cattle, this teaching us the responsibilities and challenges of ranching.
After graduating from Fredericksburg High School, I became a nurse and worked in Healthcare for 40 years. This path led me away from Fredericksburg for brief periods of time. But I always returned to the place I felt was home. I moved back once gain in the 1990’s to be close to family and raise my children in the Hill County. Through mutual friends I met and married Dale Sultemeier. Dale is a native of Johnson City. After attending A&M University, Dale opened Sultemeier Surveying & Engineering, LLC in Johnson City, then later moved his office to Fredericksburg. His family settled the in the area in the 1800’s.
Together Dale and I have 4 children and 10 grandchildren. Our youngest started college this fall making us empty nesters. Go Bears!! We are anxious and excited to see what this next season of our lives has in store for us.
I am now a REALTOR® with CENTURY 21 THE HILLS REALTY helping others find the right place to call home. We understand the need to have roots in the Hill Country that we love.
